We're Almost Through The Chute, I Think

so we had the appraisal completed yesterday, which was the last piece that we owed the bank for our home equity loan to fill in the pool (depression, but it's time) and pay off our credit cards. it's going to be a very good thing in the long run, especially from the perspective that we won't have this gaping hole in our backyard and by consolidating our debt we'll be saving money. it's a win-win situation. and truthfully, the pool would have been bath water (or warmer) because of the heat wave summer.

more than anything, i'm glad we finally are taking care of things that are long overdue. we put this off for far too long. it was easier to just ignore it and hope that it would fix itself or go away. but that's not real life. the backyard is not going to ever look the way it did when we bought it. but when we plant sod next spring or put in a small patio, maybe brick, it's going to be nice.

so, in the next few weeks we'll bid adieu to the reason we originally bought the house. and maybe get inspired to get more projects done. and in the famous words of a hilarious episode of the magnificent seven, "who can say what the day will bring?" with a fresh coat of paint on the outside, refinished hardwood floors, and a newly asphalted driveway, we may decide to stay.
