The Intoxicating Lure Of (Free) Phones

the adorable one re-upped with verizon wireless and as a result, got a spanking new shiny razor phone. it's got all kinds of neat bells and whistles and for god's sake, it's a razor phone. how cool is that? i know, super cool. because he's the primary person on our contract, he got the phone for free. if you want to call it free--but we didn't pay anything for it, so in my mind, it's free.

for me, we paid $30 and got the phone below. it's an upgrade from the one i have now, which is a little lg speaker phone that we got a couple years ago. it works just fine, but we figured since the adorable one is getting a new phone, we might as get a new one for me too. plus, this one has a camera. at first we were very resistent to camera phones--the reason being, we had a decent camera and didn't see that the quality would be there. then, we got a digital camera, which i love, love, love. the problem is, i can't take it with me everywhere and there are so many times i just wish i had a camera so i could get a shot of the sunrise, a piece of sushi, or a bird of prey.

so, we're spending $30 so i can be an amateur photographer with a cell phone. and it looks cool. and i'm all about looking cool.

this is the motorola q, in case you are not familiar with the latest object of my lust (other than the adorable one). unfortunately, it's major $$$$, so i will have to save my pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, george washingtons, and ben franklins before we invest in this baby. but oh is she a honey. why you ask? well, i'll be able to blog using it. and take pictures. and surf the internet. and send emails. too lush. too dreamy. so please excuse me while i wipe the drool from my chin.
