I Just Want To Know

if you live in a place like florida, there's a hurricane bearing down, and you're told to evacuate (like the florida keys), and your workplace closes--do you have to charge your time to vacation or is there a timesheet code for inclement weather? i just wanna know.

because if you had to take vacation time if you were not supposed to be at work and were stuck in your house waiting for a natural disaster to potentially hit your area, or you evacuate to a safer location, what's the rule on how companies pay their employees?

i'm really curious. because if there is a hurricane code, i sure as heck would like a snow day code. or ice storm code. or it's raining so hard that it's like ten-gallon buckets are being dumped on my car time code. yup, that would work. frankly, i just need a code that would pay me to stay home from work any time there is bad weather.

then again, i just need a timesheet code that would justify me taking off early every day to nap. that sounds good. really good. anyway, back to the hurricane thing. if anyone knows anything, spill the beans.
